By Trevor(Owner), Oct. 28, 2009 Well I got to race the KTM450SX quad this year, ended up 2nd over all in points. This quad is built for one thing, Racing, goes very fast can do 100' table tops no prob, and is race ready. Off the track the smaller tires and suspension sag hold you back the XC quad is better for this. The quad com... es set up for someone who its 187 pounds with gear, I'm 6'1" and around 220 but with a little tweeking it worked very well for me. One thing that I would like to see changed is the no link rear suspension, the quad would spin a bit more out of corners then other quads, and the small bumbs it would lose some drive. One thing everyone need to know about this quad is its a RACE QUAD, its very fast and has very high maintenance, air cleaned every ride, oil changed every 3 to 5 hours, valve checks evey 15 hours, i work at a KTM dealer, seen lots of them back cuz people don't do take care of them. KTM has lots of little trick parts for it. I put the KTM FMF slip on pipe first thing, and jetted it, and it would pull away from ever other quad. The brakes on this thing are crazy qood, the best I've ever used. I would race this quad again in a heart beat, and if your looking for a race ready quad out of the box the KTM SX is the way to go, if you don't like doing maintenance maybe not so much. Read Full Review By Hunter morgan(Enthusiast), Aug. 3, 2009 I believe that the KTM 450 sx is the top of the line with it's wp shocks that suck up every bump you overcome. also with it's 31.3 inch seat it makes it more comfertable and enjoyable to ride on. When it comes to power and speed the ktm takes home the cake with it's single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 5 spee... d ktm engine. allthough this may be the rifgt atv for you there are some problems like if you like trail riding the ktms wheelbase is 50.4 inchs wide and if you get stuck it dose not have reverse butallthose problems can be solver with KTM's 450xc witch has a shorter wheelbase and reverse because it is ment for trail riding. but they are both great atvs in the end so I give KTM 5 stars. Read Full Review By jesse(Writer), Jul. 29, 2011 after months of searching for a race quad i have found one problem.I can not fine a comparison between can am and ktm 450. in the area i am at i do not know of anyone who ownes either one. can we get some more input here between some owners. thanks... do not look to see my rating here.. it is inconc... lusive. but as far as pricing it appears to be the way to go....
